Where is hideaway located?
Hideaway beach resort & spa is a luxury private resort located in the luxuriously north of the Maldivian archipelago, in Haa Alifu atoll where there are less resorts and guest houses compared to central Maldives. Thus, guests can enjoy much better locations for various experiences on and nearby the island without being disturbed by other parties. It is also located near to one of the important cultural islands, Utheemu, where the famous Utheemu palace is located.

Located in the heart of the Indian Ocean, spanning the equator southwest of Sri Lanka and India, the Maldives comprises of nearly 1190 coral islands forming an archipelago of 27 atolls.
One of the world’s leading holiday destinations, the incredible white powder beaches, vibrant coral seas and low-lying islands make for a unique environment.
Aside from sunbathing and relaxing, there is a wide range of sports activities to enjoy, such as Scuba diving, snorkelling, water sports, and many excursions to choose from to make your Maldives experience your own.

What about the culture of the country?
Maldivian customs and cultural background include Dhivehi, the local language, Bodu Beru, the traditional dance, traditional boats called Dhonis, handcrafted works with wood creating works such as miniature Dhonis and the exceptional Maldivian Style Lacquerware pieces. The first Maldivians came from Sri Lanka and India, with later influences from Southeast Asia, Arabia, and Africa all adding to our countries rich culture and history.
The most popular and the most extensively known form of music from Maldivian tradition is Bodu Beru, which means Big (Bodu) Drums (Beru). Bodu Beru is a dance song, starting with a slow beat and leading to a frenetic and tumultuous beat. It is usually performed by large groups of 15 to 20 men, including drummers, singers and dancers. Make sure you check out a Bodu Beru perormance during your stay if you get the chance!

How do I get to hideaway?
Upon arrival, guests can find our friendly airport representatives, holding the hideaway welcome board. However, if you are unable to locate them, you may head on over to counter C15 to ask for assistance. Guests can opt for domestic or seaplane mode of transfer at the time of booking.
Domestic – the flight is a beautiful journey of about 55 minutes to Hanimaadhoo airport. From there, you will be whisked away on a shared speedboat ride of 20-30 minutes to the beautiful resort at Hideaway.
Seaplane – a 75-minute flight to the resort. Guests opting to fly via seaplane will be in for a spectacular treat as the views of the low flying seaplane will be breath-taking. Seaplane Guests have access to our Lily Hotels Lounge at Noovilu Seaplane Terminal (NSPT).
Guests flying in via private jets can opt to choose either Velana or Hanimadhoo international airport, where our team will assist you in getting to the resort, via speedboat or the hideaway majesty yacht.
**note: seaplane transfers in the Maldives only operate during daylight hours and are subject to your international arrival and departure times. Your International flight to Maldives must arrive in the Maldives between 0600hrs and 1500hrs. Your International flight out from the Maldives must depart not earlier than 0945hrs. If your flights operate outside of these times, we recommend booking a room at a hotel at an additional cost.
Also, the shared seaplane baggage allowance per person is 20kg + 5kg hand luggage and any extra luggage will be charged directly to the guests, as per the seaplane baggage policy.

What are the meal plan types offered at hideaway?
We offer different types of meal plan as breakfast only, half board, full board, and our all-inclusive plan – the White platinum plan (known as the Signature Platinum Plan for Signature Guests) – inclusions found here.
We offer 5 restaurants and 3 bars, which includes buffet international dining, Italian cuisine, European, and Asian cuisine (namely Indian, Thai, Chinese, and Japanese) and exclusive access to Oasis which is a lounge/bar and fine-dining restaurant area for our guests staying at the Signature Collection Residences at Hideaway.
Can I upgrade my meal plan once I arrive at the resort?
Certainly, you may speak to your butler or front office team once you arrive on the island regarding upgrading meal plan.
Does the resort cater to any special dietary needs?
The resort caters to halal, kosher, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or any other special dietary needs. Do let us know well in advance to ensure proper preparation of special meals for the guest.
What are the 24th & 31st December Gala Dinner rates?

Christmas Gala Supplement on 24th December 2025 is USD 250 for an Extra Adult and USD 125 per child (6 – 11.99 years old). Children under 6 years are complimentary.
The New Year Gala Supplement on 31st December 2025 is USD 450 for an Extra Adult and USD 125 per child (6 – 11.99 years old). Children under 6 years are complimentary.
What type of currency do you accept on the island?
We accept us dollars, euros, sterling pound, Swiss francs. We also accept payment via visa, master card, maestro, American Express, and union pay with credit card issued in China.
Is it an adult-only or child-friendly resort?
Hideaway is a large 33-hectare luxury, private island with lush vegetation and spacious villas. The island is accommodating to families with children, groups of friends, families travelling together and couples alike. We offer special offerings for adults, and a Kids Club for children as well. The team at hideaway ensures that everyone has a holiday to remember at their island hideaway.
What unique offers do you have for couples and honeymooners?
We offer a range of very romantic and special offers for couples and honeymooners.
Do you have connecting villas or family/residential villas with multiple bedrooms?
Yes, we do offer residential villas – single bedroom, bedroom+living room, and multi-bedroom villas as well. You can have a look through the selection here. However, we do not have interconnecting villas as we are an all villa and suite concept resort.
Do you have a Kids Club?
Yes, we do have a Kids Club called the tender hearts Kids Club, for children from the ages 3 – 11.99 years.
We also offer babysitting services 24/7. Charges as $40 per hour for a maximum of 02 children below 11.99 years of age.
What kind of entertainment do you offer for families with children?
The resort’s various activities and the tender hearts Kids Club’s daily activities do offer a variety of fun experiences for kids at the resort.
Do you allow drones?
In order to ensure the comfort and privacy of our guests, we have a policy that strictly forbids the use of drones near to the residential areas. Nevertheless, should you require to use your drone, please check with our team beforehand, and with the supervision of our security team on the island, we are happy to assist you and find opportunities to fly your drone in certain non-residential areas of the island such as public areas, Meeru bar & grill, Matheefaru deck, and reception area.
Are there medical facilities on the island?
Yes, we do have a medical clinic and a doctor on the island at all times.
What is your smoking policy?
Designated smoking areas are marked on the island for villas, we place an ashtray on the deck of the villa.
Do you have Wi-Fi on the island?
Yes, complimentary wi-fi on the island, in villas, reception and food outlets and all guest areas.
What is the dress code at the resort?
The Maldives is a year-round tropical climate, and guests typically tend to dress for the beach and swimming. However, we encourage you to not wear swim wear to our food and beverage outlets.
Is there a spa on the island?
Yes, we do have a beautiful large land spa with multiple treatment rooms named hideaway spa on the island offering a wide range of exquisite therapy and massage options..
Do we have to prebook our sessions?
Yes, we encourage our guests to book their sessions once you are on the island.
Is there a Yoga Instructor on the island?
Yes, we have an experienced available at the resort offering group and private yoga classes throughout the week.
Are bikes available on the large island for guests?
Yes, we provide manual bikes for each villa so that guests can explore the large island hideaway on foot or on a bike – the choice is yours.
What kind of activities do you offer at the resort?
We offer a multitude of land and ocean activities. A lush 5-hole putting green with a sandbank, two golf simulator cabins, padel tennis, pro tennis courts, beach volleyball, a fully-equipped gym, watersports with latest equipment, table tennis, and ample space for running and jogging around in the outdoors the island whilst enjoying the lush natural beauty of hideaway.
Additionally, our dive school named Meridis offers unique dives for beginners and advanced divers as well. There are approximately 30 dive spots accessible from hideaway.
Hideaway is also a great resort of fishing enthusiasts and first timers alike. Whether it be sport fishing big game or sunset-fishing for your next meal to be cooked your way at our Hideaway fish market concept at Meeru bar.
Our recreations team headed by the very experienced senior recreation guides named mr. Moodhu, will offer beautiful snorkelling excursions, private island excursions, cultural tours to nearby Utheemu palace, dolphin watching, double house reef snorkelling, sunset cruise to name a few.
We also offer weekly evening entertainment at our bars such as DJ nights and Live Music.
What is the Signature Collection at Hideaway?
The signature collection is an ultra-luxury collection of private residences newly introduced at the island. Guests who book these residences have the option to dine at Oasis – an exclusive outlet for our signature guests.
Can I book a split stay at the Signature Collection Residences and the Hideaway villas?
Yes, you may do so, however, will have to book prior to your stay as upgrades upon arrival to ensure smooth transition from villa to villa.
How is Hideaway in helping celebrate special occasions?
Hideaway has is very well equipped to provide unforgettable experiences for various celebrations such as birthdays, proposals, honeymoons, anniversaries, and more. Anything you desire the team can make it happen – do have look at the Special Occasions brochure.
How about meetings, corporate retreats, wellness retreats, and groups?
We are ready with our partners once an inquiry comes to create a bespoke experience for these experiences. Hideaway has spaces that can be converted for corporate meetings and gatherings. Hideaway is also an ideal location for groups such as post wedding parties, large family reunions, etc due to the sheer space of the resort and large beaches available.
How about buyouts?
The resort is experienced in handling buyout requests and together with our sales team will be ready to create the intimate private luxury experience at the resort where we take space and privacy of utmost importance.
What kind of sustainability initiatives are done at the resort?
The resort is committed to looking for continuously striving towards many green and sustainable initiatives.
